Best Little Buddies

Love my little cuties. They really, really love to play with each other (and they love to fight with each other too...). Noah told me the other day that his favorite friend is Isaac.

So here are a few pictures of my little cuties the past few weeks....mostly hanging out together.

Isaac is two years old!

Isaac is two!

While turning 1 is the biggest milestone I think 2 is a close second. :)

It is amazing to think that just one year ago, Isaac was crawling everywhere, bald and not even walking yet. (Hmm... he is still mostly bald!)

But now he can talk in small sentences, feed himself, and enjoy playtime and reading by himself and with Noah. Isaac especially loves to copy everything that Noah says and does.

Currently Isaac adores coloring, playdough time, puzzles, outdoor play, playing in the sand, bathtime, and bubble play. He loves taking walks and going to our neighborhood playground to play on the slides and climb the climbing wall. He is a very active child and is usually climbing, jumping or falling.

Isaac is a generally very happy child. He is usually laughing or smiling about something. Occasionally he is quiet, such as when he is in new situations or tired. Other times he is a chatterbox.

Isaac loves biking with friends or with Noah. Any excuse to be outside makes him happy!

He has an independent streak and has definitely revealed his willful nature. He does or does not like to do things, and he is very clear about his desires. Just like every child, he has to be taught what is expected of him.

Isaac loves to eat just about everything, and he takes every possible snacking opportunity possible!

Isaac is learning how to be a helper. He loves "helping" to organize the silverware drawer, vacuum the kitchen, and pick up his toys. He also still likes throwing things away (whether or not they are meant for the garbage...).

Isaac loves his little blue blankie, the TV show "Blue's Clues," and still sucks his thumb. Isaac is a very snuggly child, especially when he wakes up from his nap and around bedtime. He generally gets a little whiny around 11 or 11:30 in the morning, ready for lunch and a nap. At bedtime, Isaac asks to be rocked a little in his rocking chair. How can Mommy resist cuddling my little snuggler??

Noah is Learning to Swim

Jason has worked on swimming with Noah each summer, but we thought we would give swimming lessons a try before summer starts. The closest YMCA offers classes in our area for kids of all ages. They are 7 weeks long for a half hour on Saturday mornings, and Noah has been thrilled to go!

This little ham is so excited that he put his face in the water and swam with the instructors last week.

There are about 12-15 kids in his class and 4-5 teachers. The kids are divided into beginning and intermediate swimmers with a lot of one-on-one time.

"Hang on to the side of the pool and just keep kicking"

Noah's small group was all boys for the day. They swam to the other side of the pool to practice jumping in the water with their instructor. He looks forward to swimming lessons each week. By June when they are over, he will be ready to hit the neighborhood pool!
