Learning and Playing

Sometimes learning is playing, and playing is learning.

On the mornings that we are home during the week, we spend time playing with letter and math concepts.

Isaac is a block stacker. He enjoys all forms of lego and block stacking, especially making tall towers. He loves finding the same shapes to connect together.

He also loves to destroy his own block towers but gets absolutely furious when destruction is done by someone else. We won't name names.

Noah is a very smart little boy. He continues to amaze me with his quick mind, easily absorbing new ideas and concepts.

He loves to count, add, and make patterns with blocks. He is doing very well with AB (i.e. red-green-red-green), AABB, and ABC (i.e. blue-yellow-black-blue-yellow-black) patterns. He has a harder time with more complicated patterns, but we are working on them.

Lately we have also been working on counting by tens and counting backwards.

It is clear to me that Noah's little mind was wired to do math. I wonder where he gets that from.....
