Little Man Isaac

I haven't posted about Isaac in a while. He is nearing 14 months. He is such a grown up little guy to me now. This month he went from taking 1-2 steps to taking a half dozen steps to walking! It was fun to watch. He still falls quite a bit, but he walks more than crawls now! He's such a tiny little thing walking around everywhere. He stays somewhere around the 25th percentile for his size in weight, but he is growing.

Isaac is starting to talk more. He says "mama," "dada," "na-na" (for Noah), "no," and "two." It cracks me up that our #2 child knows the word "two" out of so many other words he could say!! The last time we went to the library he started saying "choo choo" at the train table. I can't get him to do any sign language signs, though we still try more, please, all done and milk. He used to sign "milk" but doesn't sign anything now.

Isaac is a good eater, and he does very well with his whole milk and sippy cups. We finished the bottles completely by 12 1/2 or 13 months. He eats a lot of fruit, whole grains, beans, vegetables and some meat. Isaac still takes everything out of his mouth to look at it before he puts it back in and actually swallows it. He's not a big fan of new textures, and he absolutely hates pureed foods. In fact, we quit giving him pureed foods months ago as he simply would not eat them anymore!

Don't let the cuteness fool you, because Isaac is full of trouble. He is very much getting in to everything. He's lately been found climbing on the countertops, stark naked (stripping off his own diapers already, oh my!), and eating chalk. He loves dumping my purse and the diaper bag, throwing pots and pans on the floor, climbing onto furniture (and falling), playing in the toilet (GASP!), and eating old cheerios and other ickyness off the floor. I'm telling you, he is the number one reason I sweep the floor 1-3 times per day! He is probably also the reason I find the occasional gray hair on my own head!

Speaking of hair, Isaac still doesn't have much of that. His baby cousin Joshua was born with more hair than Isaac has at one year! It IS starting to come in slowly though. I am positive he will be a blonde child whenever it does really start growing. What he lacks in hair, he makes up for with 10 teeth (and 4 more coming in right now).

I love my little one year old. I'm so thankful he's been such a good baby, and he is at a really fun stage. Now if we could just get past teething....the 18 month molars have come early! I'm sad he is already doesn't seem like a baby anymore. He's definitely a big boy now. That first year went way too fast.
